blab.felt

Devyanshi, the artist behind B-Lab Felt (Bhatyawn Lab) is a fiber artist working primarily with native Himalayan wool. The brand grew out of a personal shift toward making by hand, becoming a full-time practice since November 2025. Today, the work centres on slow, intuitive making, where form and texture emerge through process rather than pre-planned sketches.

The artist works mainly with Himalayan wool sourced from the Jad Bhotia community of Dunda Village in the Harsil Valley, Uttarakhand. This Harsil Cross wool is chosen for its proximity to home, its deep roots in Garhwali material traditions, and its remarkable ability to absorb plant dyes, resulting in vivid, living colours. Using this wool also supports women-centred local communities involved in its production. Devyanshi's craft involves three-dimensional, tactile sculptures, objects meant to be experienced through touch, each built entirely by hand, without seams, where material, dye, and form are given equal importance.

📍 Dehradun
