Kosha Shah

Mumbai
Kosha is a multidisciplinary artist working across clay, watercolor, gouache, graphite, embroidery, and paper. She is the founder of Mitti Space, a pottery studio where she creates functional and sculptural work and also teaches. The studio grew out of her long-standing, daily art practice and a desire to build a space centered on making by hand. Art has been part of Kosha’s life since childhood, and she has always approached it with consistency and intuition. Her process is guided by curiosity and experimentation, often combining multiple mediums within a single piece to explore texture, form, and material relationships. Nature, architecture, and vintage design are recurring sources of inspiration, especially objects with strong character such as historic perfume bottles. She works quickly and instinctively, translating ideas directly onto paper or clay, allowing small imperfections and variations to remain as part of the final work. Her practice is rooted in sincerity, material exploration, and staying true to her own visual language rather than following trends.
