Pipihiri is a terracotta art practice founded by Aditi and Ajay, sculpture graduates brought together by their shared love for clay and handcrafted storytelling. Rooted in terracotta yet deeply contemporary in approach, Pipihiri creates playful, expressive pieces inspired by animals, childhood nostalgia, and everyday emotions.
Working with terracotta for the past four years, the duo combines Aditi’s background in illustration and visual storytelling with Ajay’s expertise in pottery to reimagine traditional clay craft in modern forms. Every piece undergoes a layered process of shaping, firing, glazing, and painting, celebrating the beauty of handmade imperfections and individuality. Through Pipihiri, they aim to preserve the emotional and cultural connection of terracotta while encouraging people to value handcrafted objects over mass-produced alternatives.
